PAUL DIRKS BIOGRAPHY

Paul has been playing music all his life, but has been in the public eye since 1985. He first teamed up with Bob Holdsworth to form “Natural Causes” a Psychedelic Folk Rock group playing in and around the Chicago area. Upon moving south to Kankakee Ill, he joined “Case Closed”, playing a wide variety of covers including 70’s dance favorites and then-current Country hits. Upon moving to St Thomas in 2000,he quickly hooked up with Lightning Phil Robinson to form Mood Swing (Featuring Bryan Hilton). Mood Swing played an amalgam of styles but mixed equal parts Bob Wills and Louis Jordan. When Bryan left island Mood Swing morphed into the Low Pressure System led by Lightning Phil. In 2004 he began playing with The Sun Kings and can still be seen around St Thomas with them as well as with the Barefoot Davis Band.
